Archives integration or unification processes have shown differences that go from the individual to the general, from the grouping of archives in the different institutions to the grouping of those all over the country As a result, different theoretical models of archive unification have been presented in Archival Theory, such as Archival Institutional System, Archives Networks, Archives System and National System of Archives. The problem arises from their coexistence, without a clear delimitation of their concepts and main features. Therefore confusion exists in the presentations, in which different concepts and principles are sometimes exposed indiscriminately as meaning the same, and other times are applied to different realities in different contexts. For this reason this article focuses on the analysis of the different models of archives unification, to establish their scope and validity and to determine the concepts and elements that distinguish them

La integración o unificación de archivos adquiere diferencias que van desde lo particular a lo general, es decir, desde la agrupación de los archivos en las diferentes instituciones hasta los de todo un país. Ello da como resultado los distintos modelos teóricos de unificación de archivos que presenta la teoría archivística, a saber, Sistema Archivístico Institucionales, Redes de Archivos, Sistema de Archivo y Sistema Nacional de Archivos. Pero todos ellos presentan el problema de que conviven sin estar bien delimitados sus conceptos y principales elementos que los caracterizan. Por lo tanto, existe una confusión en dichos planteamientos, donde se exponen indiscriminadamente conceptos y principios que en algunos casos se consideran como lo mismo. O bien, cuya aplicación corresponde a realidades dentro de un contexto diferente. De ahí que este artículo centre su atención en el análisis de los diferentes modelos de unificación de archivos, para establecer sus oportunidades, su vigencia y la clarificación de sus conceptos y elementos que los distinguen.
