Borussia Dortmund headed into the international break top of the Bundesliga after maintaining their perfect start, while Bayern Munich produced the weekend’s biggest statement with a seven-goal demolition of Union Berlin.
Dortmund made it four wins from four with a hard-earned 1-0 victory at Stuttgart on Saturday, Maximilian Beier settling the contest in the 70th minute after substitute Jobe Bellingham supplied the cross. The result lifted Niko Kovac’s side to 12 points, two clear at the summit.
Kane Milestone In Bayern Rout
Bayern had briefly taken top spot on Friday after tearing Union apart 7-0 at the Allianz Arena, with Michael Olise scoring a hat-trick and Harry Kane reaching another landmark.
Kane converted a 39th-minute penalty for his 100th Bundesliga goal in just his 98th appearance, breaking Dieter Müller’s record of 129 matches, before adding another after the break. Jamal Musiala and Ismael Saibari also scored, while Olise struck three times.

Bremen Fight Back, Mainz Win Thriller
There was no shortage of drama on Saturday. Werder Bremen recovered from 2-0 down to beat Augsburg 3-2, with Niclas Füllkrug equalising before Mitchell Weiser completed the comeback late on.
“It is difficult to put the emotions into words,” said Weiser, who was celebrating his first Bundesliga goal since April 2025 after returning from a lengthy injury absence.
Mainz edged a seven-goal thriller at Borussia Mönchengladbach, winning 4-3 after Eric Martel and Danny da Costa struck late. Hamburg, meanwhile, picked up their first victory of the season as Nicolás Capaldo and Yussuf Poulsen scored in a 2-1 win over Cologne.
Frankfurt and Freiburg shared the points in a 2-2 draw, with Yuito Suzuki’s second-half volley earning Freiburg a point after the hosts had twice led.
Schick Keeps Leverkusen Rolling
Patrik Schick scored for a fourth consecutive Bundesliga game as Bayer Leverkusen beat RB Leipzig 2-0 on Sunday. Schick converted Miguel Gutiérrez’s cross before the Spaniard added the second himself.

Schalke and promoted Elversberg played out a goalless draw before Paderborn celebrated their first win of the campaign, beating Hoffenheim 3-1.
