Este artículo analiza la evolución de los derechos de la infancia a partir de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos. Nos centraremos en la Declaración de los Derechos del Niño (1959) y en la Convención de los Derechos del Niño (1989) por ser los dos documentos que mayor importancia han tenido en la defensa del bienestar de la infancia a nivel internacional. Y finalizaremos esta primera parte haciendo un breve recorrido de los derechos de la infancia enla legislación española. Posteriormente analizaremos la situación en la que se encuentra la infancia centrándonos en cuatro dimensiones: pobreza, educación,trabajo y maltrato.

This paper reviews the development of children’s rights since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We will focus on the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) because they are the two documents that have greater importance in welfare of childrenat the international level. And to finish this first part a brief tour of the rights of children in the Spanish legislation. Then analyzed the situation in which the child is focusing on four dimensions: poverty, education, labor and abuse.
